Summer hats

I never fancied myself much of a hat lady, or those foolish moments when I did, I'd wear it for a day and that would be the end of my hat wearing days. But after passing by Jcrew several times over a period of a month and picking up the same hat, I decided it was time for triumphant return of "Kaira the hat wearing lady." I think its so versatile, and looks great with a dress or a sport blazer.

I'm off to the beach for my bachelorette weekend in just two weeks, so I thought I should also rock out the old lady beach hat to protect my milky white, translucent skin. An added bonus to keeping my skin healthy and young looking, it was super reasonable at Target! I love them! Just gotta rock the "I look amazing" attitude. And voila, you will ;-)

DIY Project Success!

I shared some photos from my bridal shower a few weeks ago, and I thought my cousin did such a stellar job on the party favors, I had to share her DIY success! You may have seen this project on Style Me Pretty a few months ago. Everyone loved them and they looked great with the rest of the decor for the party. Aaaaand they traveled all the way from Pittsburgh to NYC intact. Go ahead, say it, tickle you impressed. I know. I love you Christina! Thank you! xxoo

If you want to try you own you can find step by step instructions here.

Everything was beautiful at the ballet....

This past Thursday I got a last minute call from a long lost friend of mine I used to dance with at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, oh about 8 years ago. He had an extra ticket to see NYCB and wanted to know if I'd like to join him. You don't have to ask me twice! It was beautiful, fun, and took me back to my days at Pittsburgh Ballet and made me want to jump back in the studio! Maybe Steps on Broadway will have a visit this week :-) There is something so magical and transcendental about the ballet. If you've never been, do yourself a favor and support the ballet! You won't regret it. I promise.

And kuddos to you if you know where the title of this post comes from ;-)

How could one resist?

Saw this on Refinery 29. How could I resist posting this?! This HAS to brighten up your Monday. Well it did mine at least!

Coincidence? I think not!

How funny is this?! Coincidence? I think not Princess Beatrice! The hat may be ridiculous, but I kind of like it!

Party Favors

I think I'm running out of steam with DIY projects for my wedding, but the little Martha Stewart devil on my shoulder says, "go ahead, just one more!" I saw these great little party favors on You Are My Fave. Our wedding falls on the 4th of July weekend so sparklers are perfect! Sparklers rock and who doesn't love confetti? I mean, really.

Cool Printing Company

The company Minted has been flying around the blogasphere, so I had to check them out. And sure enough, they're pretty darn good at what they do, and cute if I must say so myself. They were awesome with fulfilling my requests, specifications, and giving me a product I was completely happy with. What do you think, do you like my new business card? I'd definitely use them again in the future!

Perfect Wedding Handbag

I was taking a look at this beautiful wedding on 100 Layer Cake, and spotted this great wedding day clutch! Since the color goes PERFECTLY with accents from my dress and wedding I HAD to buy it. Obviously :-)

Telegram invites

While I'm excited to share our wedding invites, I figured I'd keep you in suspense until the big day roles around. Buuuuutttt I will share with you this super fun website I used to make our invites for our rehearsal brunch. It's an old fashion telegram! How cool is that? Since we have a smaller budget for our wedding, we decided a rehearsal brunch would be a perfect way to spend the day before our wedding. And I think the telegrams fit in with the casualness and fun of our brunch, don't you? You can definitely use telegram stop for any fun occasion, even to say "hi -(STOP)"

Latest Obsession... amazing gal pals

My friend Brittany pulled out her Martha skills with hand dipped mint cookies, and homemade K name tages.

My cousin and MOH was the DIY queen with homemade favors for the ladies to make their own ice cream. Brittany made cupcakes with eatable flowers! And Char provided lovely homemade flower arrangements!

Eat your heart out Princess Kate, because while you may now be a princess, (psssh) and yes the whole world may have had their eyes on your for days on end for your wedding, and okay, okay, you had an Alexander McQueen wedding dress- Whatever, I've got you topped. That's right, I said it. I have the most amazing, caring, loving, out of this world friends and family. Just a couple weeks ago, my bridal party and family threw me a beautiful shower filled with laughs, champagne, delicious food, pretty pink flowers, and most importantly love! We had brunch at this friendly restaurant called Gusto in the West Village. The staff was amazing, and I would highly suggest your next party there! I am one LUCKY lady- thank you!

Bzzz bzzzz bzzzz

Bzzzz, bzzzz, bzzz, that's the sound of me whipping past your ear on a crowded Manhattan street. I know, I know, who isn't busy?! But alas, I'm going to say it- I've been super busy lately focusing on various projects, and oh yeah, and planning a wedding! Above are some photos from my recent photo session with the ever fabulous Nick Coleman. If you're in quest for the perfect photographer, I can say without a doubt Nick is your man. It's a fun, and most importantly, cooperative process. Not to mention Nick is an actor himself, so he knows what you're looking for. Good deal in my book- Kaira Klueber stamp of approval. BOOM.
